The Support of our Chaplaincy

The Honan Chapel has a long association with the University College Cork Chaplaincy which is a University Department for Wellbeing and Health and one of the oldest service arms of the University. The UCC Chaplaincy plays a key role in providing pastoral care to all University staff, students and alumni – and we are proud to support it in its mission to offer an inclusive space for community, conversation, support, guidance and enrichment for all.

University College Cork Chaplaincy

Through important facilities such as Confidential Listening and Guidance, Bible Studies, Faith Formation, Ecumenical Morning Prayer and Bereavement Support, the UCC Chaplaincy is part of the fabric of University life – while also organising special events and activities throughout the year, such as Weekend Retreats and Study Week Stress Relief.

Our Link with the Chaplaincy

The UCC Chaplaincy provides pastoral care to all staff, students and alumni of the University, regardless of their faith background. Naturally though it is recognised for the strong relationship it helps build between the Honan Chapel and those of the Catholic faith.

All Honan Chapel liturgical and prayer events for Catholics within the University are organised through the Chaplaincy office and the Chaplaincy Coordinator. During the academic year, the Chapel offers a full liturgical timetable – with daily Mass, Sunday Mass and the sacrament of reconciliation which is available on request. There is a full liturgical timetable and details of ecumenical events here. Mass intentions and Cards are booked through the Chaplaincy office.
