Liturgy at the Honan Chapel

A living Space of Worship

The Honan Chapel is a living space of worship for staff, students and alumni of University College Cork. We serve our community by offering liturgy in the Catholic faith, with daily Mass, Sunday Mass and the sacrament of reconciliation. At the same time, we provide a space for Ecumenical prayer services.

Mass

We offer a full liturgical timetable throughout the academic year. During this time Mass is celebrated:

Monday to Friday 1.05pm
Sunday 12 noon  (September to May only)

Confessions are available on request by contacting the Chaplaincy here

Mass bookings can be made by contacting the Chaplaincy here

While we offer a daily timetable, we will always try to be flexible to accommodate the liturgical and pastoral needs of the University.

Services

The Honan Chapel supports the University in hosting remembrance services for deceased students, staff and alumni.

As the Chapel is a popular choice for weddings, many marriage services take place here throughout the year.

Ecumenical Events

The Chapel holds several ecumenical events throughout the academic year. These include Taize prayer services and ecumenical morning prayer.

We also host ecumenical gatherings in remembrance of those who have offered their loved ones’ bodies for medical science research. This is arranged in conjunction with the Department of Anatomy in UCC.
